If a vehicle has got stuck in mud, deep mud, in a water hole or in the sand, then a kinetic rescue rope, known as a snatch strap in English, is usually the simplest and fastest rescue solution, provided that a second vehicle is available and this is on a non-slip surface. You'll be surprised how easy it is to recover a vehicle that seems to be completely stuck.
Even if the rescue using a cable winch is not successful because the winching vehicle is moving instead of the vehicle to be rescued, a kinetic rescue harness is usually the solution.
T-MAX kinetic recovery straps are made from nylon and stretch up to 21%. The two ends are folded, reinforced and protected with an additional cover. A sliding cuff protects against scratches if the rescue strap is attached to the vehicle.
Additional shackles may be required for attachment to the vehicle.
The kinetic recovery belt is attached to both vehicles using shackles. The distance between the two vehicles should be a few meters shorter than the length of the rescue strap. The distance ensures that the towing vehicle can initially pick up some speed before the kinetic recovery belt is fully taut and then expands further. The vehicle to be recovered is first pulled gently before the kinetic energy of the towing vehicle is used to pull the stuck vehicle out.
The faster the towing vehicle drives, the higher the kinetic energy (kinetic energy). For those interested in physics, T = 1/2 mv² applies.
Tip: The bolts of the shackles should remain open about 1/4 turn to be able to open them easily after the recovery process. Otherwise, they could jam when deformed and can only be opened with a tool.
By stretching the belt, it is avoided that jerky high loads occur on the vehicle to be recovered or on the towing vehicle and can lead to damage to the vehicles or the recovery cable.
