The most important question, is in which you feel most comfortable?

• Evasion with a 360° view?

• Space with a height of 145cm and space for your feet at the same time?

• Discovery with quick assembly and dismantling?

• Do I want to have some extra space on the roof? -> Extreme and Grand Raid

Also very important: just try and experience it!

Not every tent fits to every car. Your car must fulfill the following requirements:

• Sufficient roof load for tent and cross member: The tents weigh between 50kg (Discovery) and 68kg (Space XXL and Evasion XXL). With the variant with roof space, you should consider the additional roof load required.

• Distance between cross members: For the smaller tents, a distance between the two cross members of 80-100cm would be necessary. For the XXL models with a length of 224cm, a cross member spacing of at least 120cm would be necessary. (2 cross members should be used)

• Cross member length: The tent may protrude a maximum of 5 cm per side. For a tent with a width of 140cm, i.e. at least 130cm wide crossbars, for the XXL roof tents (+ Grand Raid) with a width of 160cm, the crossbar should be at least 150cm wide. The reason is to distribute the load and avoid excessive loading of the hard shell.

We can inquire suitable cross bars or roof racks for you from the brands Rhino Rack and Front Runner and install them.

4. After the tent arrived and you paid the remaining amount of money, we can send the tent to you or you can make an appointmentat our workshop.

Special colors always take at least 12 weeks. Theoretically, there can be longer delivery times during the main season.

For this you would need a tent with a roof space, i.e. the Extreme or Grand Raid series where you can install it. The shell should not be drilled.

James Baroud gives a 5-year guarantee on tent fabric, mechanics and GRP shell and 2 years on the clamps and the gelcoat.

A tent assembly on our property is not possible because of insurance reasons. You can either pick your rooftop tent up or we can send it to you. For sure you can also make use of our assembly services. All information about our assembly and delivery prices can be found on the James Baroud order form.

For all roof tents that open in parallel, there is a universal tunnel for the right and left side.

There are 2 different ones for the Space, one for the left (driver's side) and one for the right (passenger's side) side.

The chemical PFAS is not used in James Baroud rooftop tents. We are aware that some states in the USA are introducing regulations and bans on the sale of products containing PFAS and have contacted James Baroud in this regard. There is no need to fear a penalty or the like when purchasing a roof tent.

The James Baroud roof tents have different gas struts (sometimes also different at the front and rear) which are adapted to the weight of the tent.

Nein, das wird nicht empfohlen. Es könnten die Materialien  und Verklebungen beschädigt werden und Wasser ins Zelt drücken. Am besten per Hand mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel, einem weichen Tuch und Wasser reinigen. Eine vorsichtige Reinigung von Außen mit ausreichend Abstand ist aber möglich.

Nein, das Zelt hat keine integrierte Abschließmöglichkeit von innen. Für zusätzliche Sicherheit kannst du innen ein kleines Kabelschloss oder Karabiner an den Verschlüssen anbringen.

Das Zelt hat eine automatische Verriegelung beim Schließen. Zusätzliche Sicherheit kannst du mit kleinen Vorhängeschlössern oder Kabelbindern an den Verschlüssen schaffen.

Diese gibt es nicht und ist auch nicht nötig, da unsere Zelte dafür hergestellt wurde um das ganze Jahr auf dem Auto zu bleiben.

 Ja, es gibt Sicherungen für die Markisenhalterungen (z. B. abschließbare Muttern oder Schlösser), die verhindern, dass sie einfach abgeschraubt werden können. Solche führen wir aber nicht im System.

Das Zelt ist 100 % wasserdicht. Bei starkem Gewitter sollte man sich aber aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht direkt unter Bäumen oder freistehend auf einem Hügel aufhalten. Ein Blitzschutz ist nicht integriert.

Nein, der Stoff ist bereits werkseitig wasserdicht und muss nicht imprägniert werden.

Die Montageschrauben sind verzinkt, aber wenn du auf Nummer sicher gehen willst, kannst du sie mit Rostschutzspray (z. B. Tectyl oder WD40) behandeln.

Wir empfehlen maximal 120 km/h, da Windgeräusche und Luftwiderstand bei höheren Geschwindigkeiten stark zunehmen. Aber die Vorgabe wir schnell du fahren gibst, gibt dir der Querträger Hersteller.

Aufgrund der Langen Garantiezeiten werden keine zusätzlichen Ersatzteile benötigt und wir haben ein sehr großes Ersatzteillager damit wir auch für lange Zeit die Ersatzteilversorgung gewährleisten können.

• Regelmäßig lüften, um Kondenswasser zu vermeiden.

• Beim Schließen das Zelt sauber zusammenfalten, damit nichts eingeklemmt wird.

• Leiter immer sicher aufstellen, um Unfälle zu vermeiden.

• Schlösser an den Halterungen nachziehen, damit sich nichts lockert.

• Bei längerer Lagerung das Zelt trocken halten und nicht feucht verstauen.

Die Muttern für die Befestigung haben in der Regel 13 mm oder 6mm Inbus, je nach verwendeten Haltern.

Ja, das ist möglich. Dort müsstest du aber ein Seil an der Leiter anbringen und evtl. eine Decke ans Auto legen.

• Du kannst die Leiter hochziehen und ins Zelt legen, wenn du allein bist.

• Beim Runterlassen kannst du sie vorsichtig an einer weichen Stelle (z. B. Teppich im Fahrzeug) absetzen, damit es keine Kratzer gibt.

• Alternativ kannst du eine Gummimatte oder Schaumstoff auf den Boden legen, um Schäden zu vermeiden.
