Description
With the Falcon, James Baroud is launching a 270-degree awning for the 2019 season. The fabric used is identical to the fabric James Baroud uses for his tents. The frame of the awning is made of aluminum and the bracket is made of iron.
The awning has a net weight of 32,6kg and a total weight including brackets of 48kg. When closed, the awning is 250 cm long, 17 cm wide and 20 cm high. It can be mounted on the Rhino-Rack, the AEV Roof Racks as well as on roof racks. The two fixing brackets supplied are fastened with screws in the C-rails on the back of the awning. The other side of the bracket is then attached to the roof rack. The supporting telescopic poles can be extended up to 220cm.
A set of three side walls and a mosquito net set are available as accessories to match the awning.
When closed, the awning is packed in a three-part truck tarpaulin, which is closed with Velcro along the length. It is also secured vertically at the ends with tensionable straps.
The main profile is aluminum with an iron bracket for the four swing arms. Three arms swing backwards, one forwards. In addition, an opening for the tent tunnel is integrated in the awning. As an option, side walls can be attached, which can be drawn into a keder rail.
Construction:
To open the awning, the fixed straps on the sides of the cover must first be opened. The tarpaulin must then be placed backwards over the swivel arms. After opening the inner straps, the awning fabric is unrolled and the awning can be fanned out.
The awning is available for the left (LHS) or right (RHS) side of the vehicle.
It is tensioned by a strap that is attached to the rear roof rack. There are four telescopic poles (two small, two large) in an additional pocket, which are inserted horizontally between the swivel arms and thus tension the outside of the awning. The four feet are then folded out of the aluminum profiles (swivel arms) and set up. Due to the telescopic mechanism, these can also be set up on uneven terrain by simply turning them tight.
It is possible for one person to set up the awning alone
