The generous panorama windows make the James Baroud hard shell tents unique on the Market. Large parts of the tent fabric can be opened and allow incredible views from inside the tent. Separated from the outside world only by fly screens, the interior feels much larger. To ensure privacy, the lower edge of the window rises slightly.

Practical and easy to open thanks to hydraulic cylinders and articulated arms, which are protected by a tarpaulin inside the tent. All roof tents are fully equipped and have spacious double-layered entrance doors with fly screens on three sides. The doors can be opened from below or above and can be completely closed thanks to the Velcro on the lower edge. The ladder can be hung on the side (left or right).

Due to the ingenious construction of the roof tents, the tent fabric is connected to the roof shells as a whole by a piping rail. This makes the tents waterproof and the fabric can be easily replaced in the event of damage. The very high-quality polyester tent canvas All Season Touring™ from the Dutch specialist Ten-Cate is comparatively light, but still strong and durable. The microporous sixfold acrylic coating makes it waterproof, breathable and weatherproof. It is also dirt-repellent and easy to clean.

All tents come with a telescopic aluminum ladder that can be adjusted in length and is also comfortable to use barefoot. The ladder is securely hung in special brackets attached to the sides of the tent. The ladder comes with a protective cover to transport the ladder inside the tent when not in use. The maximum length of the ladder is 244 cm.

The hard shell roof tents are equipped with a storage net in the upper part of the interior. When closed, the tent offers a height of 20 cm to store some simple items. The upper roof shell is lined with a textile insulating material for heat and noise insulation and has a large storage net. A rechargeable LED flashlight is used for lighting

The roof shells are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP). Thermal insulation incorporated into the base shell reduces cooling of the bed surface at low temperatures, reduces condensation and contributes to pleasant sleeping comfort. Some models are equipped with a recessed roof storage area. The tents can be opened easily and quickly using gas pressure springs.

In order to keep the roof tent always ready for use for the season, depending on whether you are a winter or summer camper, you have to observe a few rules when storing.

First and highest priority is - the less moisture in the roof tent, the better - of course this does not apply to camping when you close the roof tent for a short time when it rains, but rather when “long” locking of the tent.

Store the roof tent correctly - before packing it away you should air the tent carefully so that the moisture is gone. The mattress must be removed before storage. Once the tent is down, the mattress removed and aired for a few days you can close it and pull the James Baroud cover that was supplied over the closed tent. Either you store the tent in the same position as it was on the roof, or you put it on its side.
