Alu-Cab Adventure Canopy
The Alu-Cab Adventure Canopy combines a robust aluminium construction with versatile mounting and organisation options. Large side doors, integrated rail systems, a narrow rear window and additional mounting surfaces beside the rear door make it a functional solution for camping, overlanding, leisure and professional use.
Convenient access and versatile features
The Adventure Canopy was developed for pick-up owners who need a stable, well-organised and individually expandable solution for their load bed.
Two full-length side doors
Two full-length side doors provide direct access to the load bed. Tools, travel equipment and cargo therefore remain easily accessible from both sides of the vehicle.
A narrow rear door provides access to the rear section of the load bed while leaving additional space at the sides for mounting suitable accessories.
Integrated rail systems
Interior T-tracks support the flexible mounting of accessories and organisation solutions.
Two C-channels on the roof and the integrated roof rails provide additional mounting options for suitable carrier systems, awnings, storage boxes and other accessories.
Narrow rear window
The narrow rear window supports visibility through the canopy without taking up the entire side areas beside the rear door. E-approved safety glass is used at the front.
Mounting surfaces for suitable accessories are available beside the narrow rear door.
For work and adventure
The combination of aluminium construction, rails, large side doors, a narrow rear door and a load-bearing roof enables versatile use.
This makes the Adventure Canopy suitable for overlanding, camping, trade use, transport and everyday applications.

What sets Alu-Cab canopies apart?
This overview highlights key differences in construction, features, installation and load capacity compared with commonly used canopy solutions.
| Feature | Alu-Cab | Other manufacturers |
|---|---|---|
| Market experience | More than 20 years of market experience and established use worldwide. | Time on the market varies depending on the manufacturer and product range. |
| Material | Construction made from 100% aluminium using 6063 aluminium profiles and 1050 aluminium sheet. | Depending on the version, fibreglass, steel, mixed-material constructions or additional sealants may be used. |
| Durability | Impact-resistant aluminium construction for regular loads during professional use and travel on unpaved roads. | Load capacity and impact resistance depend heavily on the material, construction and workmanship. |
| Weight | Alu-Cab canopies weigh from 52 kg (depending on vehicle). | Steel or heavy composite constructions may have a significantly higher weight. |
| Weather and dust protection | Interlocking opening doors with a double-seal design. | Simple continuous foam or rubber seals are often used. |
| Installation | Installation using internal and external rails as well as vehicle-specific brackets. No drilling is required for most supported vehicles. | Depending on the product, additional brackets, modifications or drilling may be required. |
| Finish | UV-resistant, powder-coated aluminium finish. | Surface quality and UV resistance vary depending on the material and coating. |
| Roof load | 200 kg dynamic while driving and 400 kg static when stationary. | Permitted roof loads depend on the model and may be lower. |
| Accessories | Extensive accessory range with direct mounting to the integrated rail systems. | Accessory ranges and mounting options vary depending on the manufacturer and system. |
| Field testing | Used and tested in Africa, the Americas, Australia and Europe. | The scope and duration of field testing vary depending on the product and manufacturer. |
Development and manufacturing from a single source
The canopies are developed and manufactured at the company’s South African facility. The production process includes product development, aluminium fabrication and final assembly.
The characteristics of other canopies may vary depending on the manufacturer, material, model and version.
Vehicle-specific installation information
The Adventure Canopy is supplied with a suitable mounting kit. It is attached using vehicle-specific mounting points on the load bed, existing rails or the vehicle frame.
The mounting components are designed for a direct connection to the load bed An existing load-bed liner may therefore need to be removed or modified around the mounting points.
For suitable vehicles, installation without drilling can be completed in approximately 45 minutes. The actual installation time and required work depend on the vehicle model, load-bed equipment and additional accessories.
Wiring the brake light and interior lighting is charged separately in each case and is added to the cost of standard canopy installation.
